What Next? After the Try Dive …
Now you have tested the waters and you are still excited about pursing the sport of diving, what do you do?
There are several ways of progressing your journey in diving, we suggest you start with a Discovery Diver or an Ocean Diver course. Come and see us on Wednesday at 8.00pm at Stafford Leisure Centre and talk to the Training Officer or Diving Officer about your next step!
If you are already a qualified diver, head on over to our ‘courses/membership’ page!
Discovery Diver: We recommend this if you want to experience diving with a guide or are a younger diver. You will be qualified to maximum of 12 metres under direct supervision of a Dive Leader or higher grade diver and able to use breathing gas mixtures of upto 36% nitrox.
Ocean Diver: If you know you that this is the sport for you, we suggest taking this course. It is the quickest way to being a fully fledged diver and able to progress into many other BSAC qualifications to hone your diving skills. You will be qualified to dive to a maximum of 20 metres, use breathing gas mixtures of upto 36% nitrox.
For us to take you through the course you will need to sign up for club membership, BSAC membership and purchase a BSAC course pack. Please see our Membership costs page for details.
Whilst in training with us your base equipment is provided by the club, with the exception of Drysuit/semi-dry/wetsuit, hood, gloves and boots.
Once you have your diving qualification, there are so many things you can do with your new skills!
Such as:
- recreational diving, abroad and in the UK.
- wreck exploration
- commercial diving
- archeologival diving
- search and rescue
- Cave diving
Safeguarding: All our club instructors hold current DBS certificates.
